Session Information
I totally get it, a photo session with your family can seem like a scary task. With so many photographers to choose from, I invite you to really pay attention to what you are receiving with your photography experience.
When I started my photography business I made the decision to create an experience for my clients that was something that I would enjoy myself if it were me on the other side of the lens. Natural interaction, laughter, relaxing, and zero pressure. That is what I strive for.
I want you to play with your family. Love them. Kiss them. Hug them! Really, just be yourself. I find that when I give clients the lead, their photos are much more personal.
I consider myself a 'natural light photographer'. What does that mean? Generally speaking, I typically stick to using the available light around me. Yes, that means NO flash. Hooray for that!
That golden sun and beautiful diffused light from an overcast sky are gems to me. I totally use it to my advantage. For this reason, my family sessions generally take place in the evenings and mornings during the first and last few hours of sunlight.
You are probably wondering what you can expect when you contact me to schedule a session. I am a laid-back person and I want to get to know you and your family! It is important to me that you feel comfortable with me documenting the love you and your family feel for one another. To do this I schedule a pre-session meeting with each and every client that books a session with me.
If you are local, let’s meet for coffee or tea and chat. If you are from out of town, no worries! I will set up a video chat for us to talk shop. These pre-session meetings give us a chance to talk about your session in a manner that isn't restricted by delayed emails and text messages; allowing our conversation to flow. Plus, you and I have the opportunity to chat about other things.
My clients usually end up as my friends. Can you blame me? You all are pretty rad people and everyone has something special to share! Some topics of our convo might include your photography needs, location preferences, and what you hope to achieve out of our time together.

How long does it take to get our gallery back?
My general turnaround time is 6 weeks for family sessions. Let me know if you require a different gallery delivery time, I am happy to accommodate!

A simple + easy way for you to explore color theory and styles without searching the internet or stores for hours. You will receive a link to your personalized styling questionnaire and it will show you amazing options for your whole crew along with pricing and where to order so you can take the stress out of the clothing search. Do you travel outside of Your Base locations of colorado + Minnesota?
Ummm, yes please! Send me a message (or add it to your session request submission above) and let me know what you are thinking. Depending on the location, there may be travel fees.
Where do you photograph?
I offer a client-exclusive location catalog for you to peek through. Currently, I split my time between Colorado and Minnesota. Oh, babe, I LOVE a good mountain view + I am also in LOVE with that Minnesota Northshore life!
For Colorado folks, there are also options further up the mountain if you are up for a bigger adventure. For those in Minnesota, the options are limitless! From the Iron Range to the Cities and up to the Boundary Waters. Often, clients also browse the blog or IG to find locations that they love and we work together to finalize the perfect spot.
How do I book?
Booking with me is straightforward. It is as easy as completing the form linked via the links on this page or clicking here. Fill in the requested info and let me know all the details. You will receive a proposal form from me via email as well as my booking calendar (two emails). Check your spam if you don’t see them. Complete the proposal and choose your session date. Easy. I will take care of the rest!
