Front Range Pikes Peak Couples Session

Couples Session near Pikes Peak on the Front Range

This space is quickly becoming a new favorite. Those white rocks, beautiful field, and amazing mountain views are breathing life back into my soul. Shelley and Matt reached out to me to document their wedding anniversary. With this past year, they wanted to treat themselves to a well-deserved token of their love, and I was there for it.

Can we talk for a minute about how hard marriage is? I know that most people will lie straight to your face and tell you that “if you marry the right person, it’s easy”. I am here to tell you that they are just saying that so they don’t have to speak the truth. Marriage requires work, all of the time. The key to remaining in a relationship that you truly love and care about is communication.

Folks, communication can be a hard thing to master, if you ever do it at all. I will tell you this though, give yourself grace, and know, just because someone else’s marriage looks peachy on the outside, we all have our moments. I will also tell you that those moments don’t lessen the love you share with the keeper of your soul.

I used to think that if you fought in your marriage, that you didn’t have a good one. This was because I wasn’t taught what marriage truly looked like. It has taken me YEARS (I am 34) to finally figure out that marriage is so much more than what I thought it was. It is respect and fighting with respect. It is love and fighting with love. It is agreeing and disagreeing and all the things in between. What makes a marriage is not perfection or bliss. It’s the desire to stay with the one that stole your heart and choosing them. Every. Single. Day.

Whew, that was a bit deeper than I thought I was going to get tonight but I think that I needed to say those words. For all the couples that made it through the dumpster fire of 2020, give yourself a giant pat on the back, kiss your sweetheart with passion, and go buy yourself something nice. You earned it.

Speaking of buying yourself something nice, wanna get together and document that steamy love you share with your babe? I wanna take your picture in 2021 (and 2022 and 2023 and allll the times after that!). Hit me up! Drop a note to say hi and let’s journey together. I want to document your authenticity and show you that love tangibly. Click that button below for booking info. See ya!
