Garden of the Gods Maternity Family Session in Colorado Springs

Pregnancy. What a gift. How amazing is it that women can grow a whole organ (the placenta) and ALSO grow a whole sweet babe? I can’t even wrap my head around how amazing the body is to be able to accomplish such a task. It seems like a miracle at times. I am not a religious person but the human body and creation of life makes me want to be.

Allison and her sweet family met me for a perfect night in Colorado Springs. We enjoyed each other’s company and I spent allll session trying to be friends with sweet little miss Ellie. If you scroll down the bottom of these blog post image favorites, you will see that it finally happened. Or maybe it was just the chocolate chips and first-ever Annie’s Bunny Gummy Snacks her mama gave her. Either way, I’ll take it!

I cannot wait to see what kind of big sister she will become to her sweet baby brother who is arriving oh so soon! I have no doubt that she will love him with her whole heart. Allison, as a mama to so many kiddos, I will tell you, it won’t always be easy, but it will always be worth it. Those little babes will look at you like you are their world and they certainly will complete yours.

Congratulations on your sweet baby boy mama. You better believe I am going to be stalking your IG page for when he finally arrives. I cannot wait!

Are you pregnant? Thinking of documenting this never get again time in your life? I would love to help! Click the button below for my maternity session information page. Let’s hang!

Wedding Couple Session at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs

Elizabeth and Matthew have had an unfair year. With COVID abound, they had to change their wedding plans once and then postpone altogether to next year due to travel restrictions for military members. When Elizabeth and I talked about this, I felt her heartbreaking. Immediately, I offered to meet up with them in their wedding attire to do a complimentary wedding session so they could still get some photos this year in that beautiful dress she bought for her lovely day.

Family Photography Session Along the Front Range in Colorado Springs

Leticia and her crew were as fun-loving and they were absolutely adorable. Her two sweet girls and her husband met me at one of my favorite new locations and we explored our hearts out. We adventured by the red rocks, on fallen cottonwood trees, snuggling up on blankets, hiking up paths, and secret staircases. It was like a fairytale.

Fall is the busiest season for a photographer and, right on cue, this fall was my busiest season I have ever had during my photography career. I love it and am so thankful for Leticia and her fam bam along with all the other families I got to hang out with over the past few months.

I am looking forward to the winter months and the calm it brings with being an outdoor photographer. I know I will be booking less, so that makes me a tad sad, but I also know that Colorado weather is pretty awesome still in the winter so I am also looking forward to some amazing chilly weather sessions in the next few months!

Are you looking to book a winter session? I would love to hang with you and your family. Click the button below to check out my family session info and see if booking a session with me is right for you and yours! See you soon!

Couples Photography Session in Frisco, Colorado

Kara, how are you so pretty? I swear, each time we see each other, your smile and warmth just capture me. I can still remember waking up that cold morning in my tent to photography your elopement with Tyler by your side. The night before, sitting around the campfire eating yummy things and talking the evening away. Here you two are now, loving, laughing, and LIVING OUT OF A VAN! I think that is ridiculously cool.

When Kara reached out to me, she told me they wanted photos of them in the van they were now living in with their two pups. I jumped at the chance to hang out with them. Location was key as we wanted to be sure the van was situated in a space that reflected the beauty of nature. I had shot in Frisco at this location the month prior and I was excited to be going back.

When I arrived, Kara and Tyler showed me their van and everything it could do. I even got to use their compost toilet, very self-sufficient. They have a cooktop, a built-in spice rack, and a fully functioning sink. Their bed was also super comfy (believe me, I laid down on it!). They even have cute little cactus’ in the cup holders up front, the perfect space. After I checked out their sweet home, we took a stroll by the water. We let the pups run and play along the water and we chatted about life and their hopes for the future.

I felt like our time together was an adventure and adventures are my favorite. Can I adventure with you too? Can I help you craft a session in a location that you love just I did for Kara and Tyler? Reach out, let’s make a plan!

Fall Family Photography Session at Lake George, Colorado

I have been waiting to deliver this session for what seems like ages. I met Sarah at a Tuesday Together networking meeting. During this meeting, she said she really wished she could meet other local photographers who would actually be her friend and have it be genuinely real. I look at her, gave her my card, and said, “I’ll be your friend!”. The rest is history and what has really only been a few months but has seemed like a lifetime.

Ugh. My heart.

I look at her, gave her my card, and said, “I’ll be your friend!”. The rest is history and what has really only been a few months but has seemed like a lifetime.

Sarah, her husband Matt, and their two boys Elliott and Ezra are like extensions of my own family. Always there to lend an ear or a hand. I want them to know right now, they don’t fully understand the gravity of my love and adoration for them. I feel thankful to have met such a bright, smart, selfless, caring, and soulful mama that I now get to call my friend.

This place is so special to them and I am glad that we made the drive up to Lake George to explore in a place that they, one day, want to call home. Watching the boys run and play on the boulders and through the grass by the water was magical and a much needed break for me. I felt like I could just create during my time with them. They trusted me to just do my thing and the results speak for themselves.

Sarah, babe, here are just a handful from your that gallery of family images WITH YOU IN THE FRAME you have been waiting for. I love you to the bottom of my heart girl. Enjoy!

Friends, if you are here for these beautiful images and are wondering how you can get on my books too, just click the button below and let’s make it happen. Your kids are only kids for 18 short years. Let’s make the most of the time you have left.

Family Photography Session at Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs

A mohawk, a bolo tie, the cutest pigtails, a man bun, and one barefooted mama, was this beautiful family session with Amanda Zoe and her crew. From the moment she and I talked, I was smitten with the love she had for her children. The grace and kindness. The genuine love and caring she exudes from her heart.

This family traveled down from Denver to hang out with me at the base of Pikes Peak in our breathtaking Garden of the Gods. This space allowed her family to explore and play. Connected. In love. Can I also say, her session clothing choices were on point! Like, really really. The whimsical boho style and feel of it all together were perfect for the setting and their personalities.

I know a lot of photographers are scared when it comes to photographing children. They are afraid the kids will, well, be kids. I LIVE for it. Bring me your craziest bunch and I will just soak it all up and capture what I feel to be the essence of what it is like to be a kid again. This is what keeps me sane in a world where adult problems are forever bounding and lurking around every corner.

Don’t be afraid mama. Don’t be afraid daddy. Bring those babies and yourselves and just LIVE with me. Don’t let your fear of your kids “not acting like they should” keep you from booking a family photography session. Trust me, they act JUST as they should. They are kids! Let them be kids and I will take care of the rest. I promise to be patient, kind, and understanding. I promise to love them with my whole heart even though we just met. I promise to honor their personalities and genuine laughter with my camera and then deliver you a gallery that shows you all of that from the outside in. A perspective that you don’t often get on your own.

Let’s hang? Let’s play? Until then, soak up the fun love from Amanda Zoe’s crew through my favorite images below and that oh so lovely slideshow above. Click play, I dare you.

Fort Collins In-Home Newborn Photography Session

Being a twin mama is special. I know because I am also a twin mama. Though I didn’t birth my two beautiful babies myself, I thank their mama for doing that hard work for me. With the marriage to my wonderful husband, brought three bonus kiddos into my life, Ethan, Emma, and Jack.

Like Emma and Jack, Clara and Henry get to grow up together. Built-in best friends from the start. Growing together in their mother’s womb, they have known and will continue to know each other as no one else can. Mallory, you are a rock star. Brian, you are that hands-on dad that women need in their lives after the birth of their babe, and in this case, babes. Give yourselves both a huge hug and pat on the back for me. Twins are double the trouble, diapers, feeding, waking up, and just everything. You are doing it with grace and love.

Twins are double the trouble, diapers, feeding, waking up, and just everything. You are doing it with grace and love.

Mallory and Brian live up near Fort Collins and I am located down in Colorado Springs. The day before their session, the Denver traffic worry got to me. Would I make it to our appointment on time? Would I get stuck in traffic? Would there be car issues? All of it started to weigh down on me. I reached out to Mallory and let her know I was going to stay the night in a nearby hotel that evening so I could be there, and be on time. Without missing a beat, she so selflessly offered to cover my stay at the hotel. I have never had anyone offer to do that and I was beside myself. What a kind and gracious thing even though she will tell me a million times over, “ it was nothing”. It might have been nothing to you, but your act was amazing and it totally made my evening. I truly appreciated it. Truly.

Mallory and Brian warmly welcomed me into their home. The babies were nestled in their little pillows fast asleep. We chatted like old friends and then we started their session. Those babes. So perfect. So sweetly sleeping. Mallory, a gentle mother, and Brian, a proud and doting father. It was lovely and I am so glad I got to take part in these first days they shared with their two sweet loves.

My clients usually become my friends and then they soon, with the help of social media, and the insight I can see into their lives, become more like family than anything else. I love that about my job. It’s more than just taking photos. They trust me, fully, to come into their lives and document those moments for them so they can also be in the frame. To say, “yes, I was there”. It is very special to me in the most profound way and I am thankful for them. They are what makes my business what it is. A gem in my heart. The release of stress from the world. A peek into the lives of so many and I cherish it.

Woodland Park Colorado Wedding at Edgewood Inn

Carly & Corey’s wedding at Edgewood Inn in Woodland Park was nothing short of magical. Like many 2020 couples, they had to change their plans, but this mountain venue turned out to be the perfect backdrop for their day. With breathtaking Pikes Peak views and the warmest, most welcoming friends and family, their celebration was filled with love, laughter, and heartfelt moments that had me holding back tears more than once.

As the rain poured down, it only made the day feel more intimate and cinematic. We caught a break in the storm just in time for portraits, and the moody skies, misty mountains, and golden light peeking through made for the dreamiest wedding photos. Carly & Corey trusted me completely to capture their love, and that trust made all the difference. See their stunning Edgewood Inn wedding and get inspired for your own Colorado mountain wedding!"

If you’re dreaming of a Woodland Park wedding with breathtaking mountain views, Edgewood Inn is a perfect choice. Tucked away in the Colorado mountains, this intimate venue offers a warm and inviting space with panoramic views of Pikes Peak, making it an incredible location for couples who love nature, romance, and a touch of adventure. As a Colorado wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing love stories at this beautiful venue, and every wedding here feels like something out of a dream. Carly and Corey’s wedding was no exception—it was a day filled with love, laughter, and the kind of heartfelt moments that make my job so special.

I first met Carly and Corey during their engagement session. They had booked my Full Wedding Coverage collection, which includes a complimentary engagement session. This time together before the wedding is so important—it allows us to build a deeper connection and creates a sense of comfort right from the start.

Like so many couples in 2020, Carly and Corey had to shift their wedding plans due to COVID. Their original venue couldn’t accommodate their guest list anymore, so they pivoted and found a new location. And honestly? I think it was for the better. They chose The Edgewood Inn in Woodland Park, and wow—what an incredible decision. This venue not only provided a warm, inviting space but also showcased the most breathtaking Pikes Peak view. As a Woodland Park wedding photographer, I can confidently say that this spot is a dream for couples looking for mountain magic.

From the moment I arrived, Carly and Corey’s friends and family made me feel so welcome. They were kind, gracious, and just radiated love. Carly’s bridal party, in particular, was something special. You could feel the deep bonds they shared, the way they adored her, and the way she adored them right back. And honestly, how could they not? Carly is one of those rare gems of a person. Her maid of honor’s speech was filled with stories about her selflessness—including one about the time she jumped into an icy river to save her dog, Xena. I mean… come on. What a person.

There were so many moments throughout their day where I had to fight back tears. Their love—the way they look at each other, the way they move together—it’s the kind of love that makes you believe in something bigger. It’s the kind of love you hold onto, something to strive for. Their warmth and joy filled every space they occupied, and capturing that was an absolute honor.

They say that rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck. Well, Carly and Corey are set for a lifetime of it because it poured. But the rain gave us just enough of a break to step outside for some stunning Edgewood Inn wedding photos. The clouds parted, revealing the most beautiful Pikes Peak view wedding backdrop. Carly, Corey, and their wedding party trusted me to guide them through the photos, even as we dodged raindrops on the hillside. That trust? That means everything to me. I had a vision—moody, soulful, warm, spirited—and Mother Nature delivered. The rain, the wind, the clouds, and those mountains came together in a way that was perfectly imperfect.

The biggest gift Carly and Corey gave me was their trust. They let me take the lead, to guide them through their wedding day with my professional experience. That kind of trust allows me to create the best, most authentic images possible. And let me tell you, their photos? Killer.

So here’s my question: Can I do this for you too? Can I help you craft the perfect wedding timeline, one that ensures stunning photos while easing some of that planning stress? If you're looking for a Colorado wedding photographer who can capture not just the big moments but also the quiet, in-between ones—let’s connect. Click below for pricing info and to say hello.

The images below are a collection of my favorite moments from Carly and Corey’s Woodland Park wedding. Take a peek, soak in that mountain view, and fall in love with their love.

In-Home Lifestyle Newborn Session in Colorado Springs

There is something special about being second-born. You have a built-in playmate. A friend for life. That is what Rhett can provide, even at such a young age. Someone for Ray to always look up to, his big brother. To get into trouble with, to pick flowers with for mama. To hatch secret plans and complete crazy antics with.

What a sweet boy. Baby Ray.

Babies are so small and depend on their family right from the moment they are conceived to protect and care for them. Mother’s carry them in their womb and nourish their bodies until they are ready to come earthside where that care and love continues on.

There is something special about being second-born. You have a built-in playmate. A friend for life. That is what Rhett can provide, even at such a young age. Someone for Ray to always look up to, his big brother. To get into trouble with, to pick flowers with for mama. To hatch secret plans and complete crazy antics with.

I grew up without siblings in my home. I feel like I missed out on what that feels like, so I can only guess. My children have siblings and I am thankful that, like baby Ray, they get to experience unending love (and a little bit of mischief) from those that are the closest to them.

Sibling love. There is nothing quite like it.

I met with Ray’s mama and daddy (and big brother Rhett too!) when Ray was still growing big and strong inside of his mother’s womb. I got to know their family and who they are before coming into their home space and visiting with Ray for the first time. It was special to be given that gift and trust by his mama. Thank you, Stephanie. I appreciate you.

Here are some of my favorites from our time together with your sweet boy. Enjoy mama.

For those of you reading this and thinking about doing the same, booking a newborn session, or even a maternity newborn bundle with me, what is stopping you? How can I help you? Convince you? Challenge you? These images are ones that can never be recreated. They just can’t. You can’t turn back time, no matter what Chers says (ha). Let’s get together and document your pregnancy and birth of that sweet babe. Invite into your life and home. Let’s be friends. Let me journey with you?

North Cheyenne Canyon Family Session in Colorado Springs

I want to let you in on a little secret of mine. I want to be a kid. Perpetually. I want to dress crazy and make goofy faces. I want to talk gibberish and eat all the candy. I want to dance until the sun comes up and sleep all day only to wake up and watch cartoons and eat pizza and ice cream. I know that as an adult I can’t do these things on a regular basis, but believe you me, I DO DO THEM SOMETIMES!! Honestly, I wish that I could all the time. That is my why for shooting families and especially kiddos.

Okay, I am going to admit something. Kids are amazing. I know, I know, you probably already knew that I felt that way. With this blog post, I am going to tell you why.

As adults, we naturally sort ourselves out into a space in the world that follows rules, cares what others think, etc. Things need to be in order. We (most of us) feel the need to please others. Am I striking a chord here? I do. You do it. We all do it whether we like to admit it or not. We strive to be the people that others want us to be.

Kids don’t feel that way, at least not until they are a bit older. Sure, we make rules for them and tell them how we think they should act. Being a mama to five sweet babes, I know in my heart of hearts that those are just unrealistic expectations, and sad ones at that. Kids want to be free and they DO IT. They want to laugh and play and dance and just be themselves. What’s more, they don’t really care if others think it’s weird or out of place. They just do it because they feel it in their bones.

For the time we are together, I get to let that side of me out. I get to make fart and burp jokes and the kids laugh, I laugh and I am sure parents are thinking, who IS this lady. haha. I have a theory and an ethos that I solidly live behind when working with families. I promise you, if kids are having the time of their lives, their parents are too.

You know that feeling when you give your kid a gift or tell them how amazing they are and they beam from ear to ear. You can’t help but smile too. Thinking about it for a minute, am I right? That is the goal with the time I spend with families. I focus on the kids being happy and the rest is just cake. When kids fall apart, parents feel the pressure and start wondering if everything is going okay. When kids are happy, they forget all about those logistics and they really start to have fun with those babes they love so dear.

Does what I just shared resonate with you? Do you want to come journey with me and feel like you too can be a kid again with your babes? Do you want to let all of the stress go when it comes to a family photography session and just let things come back to where it all started? Being free. Being open. Feeling loved. Loving without regard. Truly having an amazing time with your kids? Then I am the photographer you have been looking for. Can we create that amazing feeling together? Reach out, I would love to help you with that!

Dillon Reservoir Family Session in Frisco, Colorado

Often times, we meet people that change our lives when we least expect it. I was a wreck when I arrived at that hostel in Denver. Over the next few days, my faith in people being kind was renewed. Somehow, it helped. Jocelyn was one of those people. When you go through something hard and there are people around to lift you up, you tend to hang on to those people with all your heart, even if they don’t really know the full reasons why.

Jocelyn and I met during a photography workshop at a time when my life felt very bleak. I had just found out that a judge in Nebraska granted custody of my son to my abuser. Even though I wasn’t really up for it, I went to the workshop anyway. I needed to feel normal. I needed to feel something.

Three years later, Jocelyn is still there for me. My constant cheerleader behind the scenes. To be honest, I was so nervous to photograph her family. With the heavy smoke in the air during her family session, these edits are a tad different than my norm but I love the richness and depth they provide. They set a mood of love, caring, and genuine strength. Strength of her family and their traveling hiccups. Strength in our friendship. Strength that everything in the world will be good again.

Jocelyn, thank you for your friendship from the depths of my soul. I know it may not seem like much but it means so much to me that you are always there to lend an ear. You are always there to lift me up. I appreciate you and everything you offer me.

To Jocelyn’s family, I know we just met but I want to tell you how much I was blown away by your kindness. Your company after this session was the best and I won’t ever forget it. I hope to one day journey down to Arizona and have my family step in front of your lens, Jocelyn. For our kids to meet. To play. To enjoy the company of friends, not just clients.

A photography session is always a journey for me. An adventure with those that are with me. This family and I journeyed into a space that neither of us were familiar with and it made it that much sweeter. Can I journey with you and your family? Will you spend that time with me exploring what this world has to offer? I would love to connect and make those dreams a reality for you and deliver you a gallery as beautiful and genuine as this one. Click the button below for information on booking a session. Let’s create something beautiful together.

Nebraska Sandhills Wedding in Alliance

August 1, 2020 share two important things in common for me. Your beautiful wedding day and my birthday! I can honestly say, it was the perfect way to spend my day. Nebraska holds a special place in my heart. The prairie, the Sandhills, cowboy life, and everything that goes along with it. Nebraska weddings are simply untouched in regard to everyone making you feel at home. I felt that while I was there, hard. Everyone made me feel like family and I cannot thank them enough.

Shelby + Brady. I don’t think anyone has as big of hearts as you two. During your engagement session, I could tell that you two love hard and true. From the way he looks at you to the way you hold his arm in yours. Your love is a match made in the stars. Thank you for inviting me out to the Sandhills to celebrate with you.

Nebraska weddings are simply untouched in regard to everyone making you feel at home. I felt that while I was there, hard. Everyone made me feel like family and I cannot thank them enough.

Some of my favorite highlights of the day include:

Shelby trusting me to just walk into her home, like we had been friends for years.

The decorations, oh wow. My daughter is convinced that even though we no longer live in Nebraska, she is going to have a cowboy wedding.

The people. I know I already mentioned it but I want to say it again. The NICEST folks you will ever meet.

Sewing Shelby’s dress back together, not only once, but twice. Thanks, mom for those sewing lessons when I was a kid!

The horse-drawn wagon was seriously everything and the Qualms are beautiful people. It was nice to see some of them again!

On the way back from wedding party photos, Shelby and Brady wanted to stop to check the mail. This was hilarious and unexpected. What was also unexpected was the “Antioch Variety Pack” that was in the mailbox too. Blackberry Brandy and Fireball duct tapped together. It doesn’t get more Nebraska than that!

Having the couple take photos in the “stink weeds”. haha. They sure are pretty though with those purple flowers!

All the dancing. Oh, the dancing. The dancing is my favorite part. I missed the country dancing and this wedding had plenty of it.

Most of all, my favorite part of the wedding was seeing the genuine love radiate from Shelby and Brady for their family and friends. It was one hell of a party.

Friends, I invite you to soak up their day by clicking play on the slideshow above. The song made me tear up before I even placed the images with it. Get those tissues handy, you are in for some Western Nebraska love and you don’t want to miss it.

Are you looking for your wedding photographer? Someone you can connect with and document your day the way you always dreamed? I take on only a handful of weddings yearly and I would love to work with you, especially if there are cowboy hats involved. I also would love to work with you if you are planning a private, small wedding, elopement, or something in between. I leave the big fancy church weddings to others though, as it just isn’t my jam. Colorado Prairie Anniversary Couples Session at the Paint Mines

Now, I am not telling you this story so you know my life history. I am telling it because it deserves to be told. If you are reading this you are either friends or family of Stephanie and Chase or you are a future (or past) client that is looking to book or book again. I want you to know just how much I adore, cherish, and am thankful that you allow me to be the one there with you on your adventure. That you are thinking of choosing me to tag along on that journey. Let me tell you when I say my clients often become my friends, I mean it. Here we go!

I met Stephanie and Chase when they hired me to be their wedding photographer back in 2018. The rest is history. These two have been my husband and I’s best friends almost immediately. I know that if I need someone to talk to, if I need a shoulder to cry on, advice, a rowdy game night, or delicious food and good company, I can count on these two to selflessly provide it.

Isn’t it funny how that works? I remember sitting with them at the library talking about their wedding and their hopes and dreams for it. I don’t know if it was because they were art majors in college, the fact that they too were from Nebraska, or that they just exhibited genuine care and love for one another that I felt drawn to them.

I can still remember our first date night out with them at the Burrowing Owl. A vegan restaurant, which I was assured would taste amazing (no offense to you vegans out there), and it was! They rode their motorcycle, which died and we came back to rescue them! I think that moment solidified our friendship for good.

Each year, I am so thankful that they continue to ask me to photograph them for their anniversary. They take me to some pretty amazing places, not only with our photography adventures but just in general. We have been to numerous amazing places in New Mexico and Utah and all over Colorado. I am thankful for you my friends. For your kindness and grace. For your love and for your cute puppy, Bella (she’s my god dog and I love her so!).

Here we go!

Summer Elopement in Garden of the Gods

The choice to elope versus having a traditional wedding is a personal one. Maybe it’s for financial reasons, maybe you want to just have a smaller crowd, maybe you want to exchange vows in an area where having a large ceremony just isn’t feasible. Maybe it’s none of those reasons. Maybe it’s all of them.

Brianna and Colton, how sweet is your love? With COVID, party size restrictions, and just a host of other barriers, you guys got it done! Congrats! I think that when people think of Elopements, they think that they have to go off is secret and exchange vows without anyone else there. I am here to tell you, my sweet friends, Elopements have many looks and feels. While it’s true that many do not have others present, there are so many that do.

In my opinion, Elopements have a different mindset than a traditional wedding. Things are more intimate, you have less stress (generally, I mean, I have been to some pretty stress-free “regular” weddings too!) and you take things a bit more slowly. The best part is that the focus is directed more at the couple than anything else.

Maybe it’s for financial reasons, maybe you want to just have a smaller crowd, maybe you want to exchange vows in an area where having a large ceremony just isn’t feasible. Maybe it’s none of those reasons. Maybe it’s all of them.

Whatever your reason, whatever your wedding plans, I want to be there for it. I want to document that sweet love you share. Let’s run off to a mountain top, just the three of us. Let’s gather your family around and have a big party. Let’s do something in between. Whatever your choice. Whatever the weather. Let’s make it happen.

Looking to book your elopement or wedding coverage with a photographer who genuinely cares about the couples they serve? I’m your girl! Let’s connect! You can click the button below to read more about the elopement coverage I offer or you can send me an email. Either way, let’s get you on the books. Let’s do it!

Pikes Peak View Maternity Session in Woodland Park

Ten years. That is a long time to wait for something you want so badly. Their time is finally here though and it is the best damn thing in this world. Lauran and Colt have waited so long for this. Ready to be parents. Arms open and warm. The thing is, when you have to wait so long for something, when it finally happens, you cherish it. I mean really cherish it. Every moment. Every feeling. Every thought. I am here for it friends. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with me. I cannot say enough how honored I am to be the one who sets these moments in stone.

Lauran reached out to me to book a maternity/newborn bundle session. With each client, I send a questionnaire over to understand their why for wanting a session. I will admit, I cried happy tears when Lauran shared their story with me. I couldn’t wait to talk to her during our pre-session video call. To tell her how happy I was that she picked me. I know there are a lot of options out there for someone to document your story and the fact that she (and Colt) chose me to tell their story for me, that’s a feeling beyond words.

In just a few short days I get to meet this sweet girl of theirs. I get to see who she looks like more. I get to witness that undying love between a mother and her babe. Those first snuggles. Those first kisses. Those first moments that are ever so fleeting and gone before you know it. I know it sounds cheesy to say “I love documenting” but this is different. In the future, when they are done changing diapers and their babe heads off to college, they can look back at these and remember what it took to get to this point. To be here. Thank you for including me in your authentically beautiful journey. From the bottom of my heart.

Interested in talking with me about how I can create a gallery like this for you? Send me a message and tell me your why. I would love to soulfully capture your pregnancy and those first moments of your sweet babes life. Truly.

Sunset Maternity Session for Expecting Twins in Colorado Springs

Mallory and Brian decided they would book me for both their maternity and newborn session. I offer a bundle for parents who want to stick with the same photographer for both sessions. My maternity sessions are like what you see here. Natural light, outdoors, and full of that Colorado beauty. For my newborn sessions, I offer in-home lifestyle sessions. This means nearly no posing of you or baby and documenting you in your space right now. New mama. Loving on that sweet babe with your tired arms and eyes but your heart so full of love you almost didn’t know you could love that much. I’ll be there for it. Let me journey with you?

Mallory was referred to me by the beautiful Amy Aragundi and her and her honey drove all the way down from Denver to meet with me to document their pregnancy of their boy/girl twins. This session is super special to me because I have boy/girl twins of my own. Though I didn’t birth them, they are 100% mine in my heart and I love everything about this journey Mallory and Brian are about to embark on.

I feel extra lucky because these beautiful humans were nothing but gracious and kind to me during our time together. I get to continue that journey when I visit their home near the end of the month to document those two tiny humans when they arrive. I can think of nothing better to do with a morning. Two babes? In my new beautiful Moses basket? Yes, please.

Colorado Family Session at Sunset Near the Mountains

I want to also take a quick moment to thank you all for filling up my fall calendar so quickly. My family and I truly appreciate your patronage to my small business. Truly. Each one of you that book with me helps me pay my monthly expenses and do things with my family that I would otherwise not have the option to do. From the bottom of my heart. Truly. Thank you. You keep the adventure in my soul and my heart in the clouds.

Oh, Bethany and Chris, how is your family so soulful and sweet? I swear, each time I see these kiddos, I feel like their hearts (and bodies) have grown so much since the last time I saw them. Avery is forever one of my favorite little spunky girls and I am so sad that I can’t continue to have you guys play with me in the mountains. Beau, dude! You have so much hair now! Smiley and loving on that mama of yours. Bethan and Beau, you guys have the SAME laugh nose wrinkle and it makes my heart so happy.

I have had the pleasure of hanging out with this family and watching them grow over the past few years. I love living in Colorado Springs but I also am sad that I live here sometimes when it comes to families and couples moving away. This is the ebb and flow of a military town. That means that I get to help my clients get set up with a new photographer where they are now. It also means that when I travel I can connect with them again in their new space. One thing I am sure to do is follow each of my clients on social media so I can keep up with their lives and how their family is doing and see those lovely photos you all share.

Another way I am going to be keeping up with all of my clients is adding each of them on Facebook and inviting them to a new Facebook group that will be private and client exclusive. There I will post new dates each year for clients to grab up first. You’ll have first access to mini session details, client closet clothing, input on what I purchase next for my closet, and sharing with you crazy good deals that I find for print products and clothing. If you are a past client of mine, be on the lookout for that friend request from me and an add to the group!

Speaking of fall sessions, I do still have just a handful of dates left for October. Those would be October 18th, 20, 26, 27, + 28. If you were looking to get in with me before it gets Colorado cold, I would suggest getting on my calendar before those dates are gone. You can send me a message or click the button below for session information and how to book.

Colorado Springs Family Photography Session for Vacationing Families

I think that things like this happen for a reason. Session postponements almost allow me to really understand and soak up who a family is, who their kids are. It was such a treat to finally meet them in person and adventure with them in the soulful Colorado Mountains. It did rain a tiny bit during our time together but their family session was everything I had envisioned when she first reached out to me. I call that a success.

This sweet boy! I got to follow along with him as he grew up over the last year. Makenna had reached out to me in 2018 and booked a session during her family vacation in 2019. Sadly, the weather did not cooperate and also, little man was sick, so we made the difficult decision to postpone their session until they were able to make the trip back.

Summer Family Photography Session at Garden of the Gods

Then COVID, oh COVID, why did you have to ruin their newborn session? I kind of look at it as a blessing in disguise because if we had gone ahead with their newborn session, I wouldn’t have been able to photograph them in this amazing location and I also would have missed out on Miss Magnolia’s spunky self! I mean, look at this babe, all smiles and snuggles. I know it sounds weird but I am glad that COVID made this session what it was. Thankful for something that changed us all. Always look on the bright side, right?

How did I get so lucky? Leslie and I became quick friends when she reached out to book her Newborn session with me. We met at one of my favorite coffee shops in town, Loyal Coffee, and instantly connected. He cheerful smile, oh my goodness you guys, it was golden. While we planned their newborn session, I quickly learned that we both have the same sense of humor, and that just made me feel so warm and fuzzy for her. Girl crushing over here, yall.

Take time to love. To think. To do the things you want to do. Most of all, I hope you are still taking the time to document your lives. Can I help you with that part? Can we hang out this fall before the snow starts to fall and catch you in this season of your life? Let me adventure with you and your fam bam. Let’s do it? Okay? Okay!
